What this method does
A follow request is the lightest possible touch. It tells the prospect you exist without asking for anything.
On Instagram and X, a follow often triggers a profile visit. The prospect looks at your account, decides if you are interesting, and sometimes follows back. On LinkedIn, a follow is silent but still useful. It places you in their network of category accounts.
Wait a few days after the follow. If they follow back or engage with your content, the next step is much warmer than a cold DM.
